Media release: Clayton Utz advises Sydney Metro on Parramatta and Sydney Olympic Park station, developments and precincts

These awards represent major milestones for the transformative Sydney Metro West project, which will deliver faster, more reliable journeys between the Sydney CBD and Greater Parramatta.

Clayton Utz advised on the procurement and contracting for the Parramatta metro station, precinct and integrated developments, with the contracts to design and construct the station and the developments being awarded to a consortium involving Gamuda and MTR. The firm also advised Sydney Metro on the procurement and contracting for the appointment of a consortium, comprising FCC Construction and Ecove Group, for the Sydney Olympic Park Station Development Precinct.

The planned precinct at Parramatta will deliver a significant boost to housing supply in the Parramatta CBD, with 470 new build-to-rent apartments and 500 student accommodation units, as well as commercial office space and a hotel.

Sydney Olympic Park station will be the only metro station on Sydney Metro West with four platforms. This allows it to switch into "event mode" to facilitate the movement of approximately 25,000 passengers per hour for major sports events and concerts at Australia's premier entertainment precinct.
