Clayton Utz is proud to have advised Development Victoria on its entry into a Precinct Development Agreement with Hamton and Hostplus, who will lead a consortium of partners and collaborators to deliver Arden Central on 12 hectares of land adjacent to the new Arden Station in North Melbourne.

The appointment will see the delivery of over 5,400 new homes at Arden Central, including 1,700 dwellings as part of the first stage of development. The project will also feature retail and hospitality amenities, 5.5 hectares of green open space including parklands and a community field, and a 5,000-person live music entertainment venue to be constructed and operated by Live Nation.

Clayton Utz’s team was led by partner Alison Kennedy, alongside special counsel Lisa Hornsby and Amy Watson. The firm's cross-practice team included key support from partners Wendy Rees, Dan Fitts, Damien Gardiner, Sophy Woodward, Sean Kelly and Keshni Maharaj, special counsel Robert Stilling and Nina Krys, and senior associates Claire Anderson and Claire McBride.

Ms Kennedy said the delivery of Arden Central would address the urgent need to increase housing supply in Victoria.

Ms Kennedy said:

Arden Central will deliver community, retail and lifestyle amenities for those who call Arden Central home, as well as for the broader Victorian community. Importantly, the precinct will also include affordable housing connected to key transport networks.

I congratulate Development Victoria and the Hamton and Hostplus-led consortium, including Live Nation, on entering into this city-shaping deal. Clayton Utz is proud to have been a part of creating what will become a vibrant, mixed-use community precinct, able to be enjoyed by all Victorians.
