Overview

Wendy advises both government and private clients on large infrastructure projects across a wide range of sectors, including transport, renewable energy, precincts, oil and gas, resources, health, social housing and telecommunications.

She assists clients at every stage of project delivery, from strategy and structuring options, contract documentation and procurement, through to all aspects of contract administration, as well as handover, operations and maintenance matters.

Notable Work
  • Department of Transport and Planning: advising on the MR5, the competitive procurement for Melbourne's metropolitan train and tram franchises.
  • Fortescue Future Industries: advising on its green hydrogen and ammonia production project at Gibson Island.
  • Fortescue Metals Group: advising in connection with its infrastructure and mining projects.
  • Homes Victoria: advised in relation to its Youth Housing Capital Program, a program to secure a range of housing options for young people to support the next generation of Victorians with safe and secure housing opportunities.
  • Department of Health: advised on inter-governmental agreements and contracting matters relating to Covid-19.
  • Development Victoria: advised on the procurement of the Geelong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Wendy was also seconded into the Development Victoria legal team supporting civic projects, including Fitzroy Gasworks, Melbourne Arts Precinct, Geelong Convention and Exhibition Centre and the Werribee Zoo redevelopment.
  • Level Crossing Removal Project: Advised across its program, including on construction, procurement, stakeholder management, delivery and asset handover matters. Wendy was also seconded to LXRP as Acting Director, Legal over a total two-year period.
  • Rail Projects Victoria: Advised on the alliances for the Regional Rail Revival program, including procurement and delivery.
  • nbn: Was a long-term adviser on the roll-out of the nbn, with a focus on operations and maintenance contracts, construction contracts, facilities access and technology procurements.
  • Origin Energy: Advised on its upstream and downstream assets within Australia and internationally, for oil and gas and renewable energy (wind, solar and geothermal) projects and assets.
