Media release: Clayton Utz advises Greenlit Brands on the sale of Freedom Furniture to Amart Furniture

Clayton Utz has advised Greenlit Brands on the sale of its furniture chain Freedom Furniture to Quadrant Private Equity owned Amart Furniture. The acquisition sees the two companies merge into a larger group of 126 stores across Australia and New Zealand that is expected to generate $1 billion in sales and could list on the ASX as soon as next year.
The deal comes as Freedom Furniture forecasts $410 million in revenue in the upcoming financial year with Amart Furniture aiming to increase this number to $600 million. This deal forms part of the ongoing consolidation of Australian furniture brands.
Partner Matt Anderson and Special Counsel Klay Brown led our team, working alongside Special Counsel Ben Pierce.
The successful sale of Freedom Furniture follows the Clayton Utz team previously advising Greenlit Brands on the sale of each of the Snooze and Original Mattress Factory businesses.
