Overview

Brendan is a banking and finance specialist with over 15 years' experience advising on complex financing transactions across Australia, the UK, Europe, the Middle East and Asia. He focuses on project finance, infrastructure (including road, rail, airport, and social projects), energy finance and corporate and acquisition finance. Brendan has also advised on market-first ESG financings.

Brendan acts for listed corporates, borrowers and issuers, sponsors, and financiers, with experience spanning loan (bilateral and syndicated), capital markets transactions, and complex multi-sourced financing platforms.

Notable Work
  • Aurizon: advised Aurizon Network and Aurizon Operations on a range of corporate financings, capital markets transactions and rail concession arrangements
  • ARTC: advised Australian Rail Track Corporation on a range of financing transactions (including financing interface with the Inland Rail Project)
  • Delta Energy: advised Delta on the financing for the Vales Point Power Station
  • Financiers: Advised financiers on the portfolio refinancing for Pacific Blue
  • Adelaide Airport: advised Adelaide Airport on a range of financing matters (including AMTN, USPP transactions and the first sustainability-linked loan facility in the Australian market)  
  • Port Hedland Airport: advised the lenders on the financing for the privatisation of Port Hedland International Airport  
  • NorthWestern Roads Group: advised NWRG and the project sponsors on financings (bank debt and capital markets) for the Westlink M7 and NorthConnex motorways in NSW
  • European-based investment company: advised on financing and corporate restructure matters for its Australian energy assets
  • ElectraNet: advised ElectraNet on bank debt and capital markets financings, including for Project EnergyConnect 
  • TransGrid: advised TransGrid and Lumea on a series of bank debt and capital markets financings
  • Genuity: advised Genuity on the financing for the Millmerran Power Station in Queensland and financing aspects of its related mining services arrangements 
  • Housing Australia: advised Housing Australia (formerly NHFIC) on the financing for GLM1 (a major social and affordable housing PPP) in Victoria
