Media release: Clayton Utz advises Australian Rail Track Corporation on A$1 billion in debt financing
Clayton Utz is pleased to have advised Australian Rail Track Corporation Limited (ARTC) on its A$500 million syndicated loan facilities and A$500 million medium-term notes issuance.
ARTC manages over 9,600 kilometres of standard gauge track in New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia and Queensland, including the delivery of the landmark Inland Rail Project, making it one of Australia’s largest rail network managers.
The ARTC network supports industry and business vital to Australia's economy, facilitating the movement of a range of commodities and providing access for interstate and inter-city passenger services.
The Clayton Utz team was led by partner Brendan Smith, with support from lawyers David Zhu and Vrinda Jain.
Mr Smith said the firm was pleased to have advised ARTC on this series of financings in both the bank debt and AMTN markets.
The transactions were a terrific outcome for ARTC and we congratulate the whole ARTC team.
These transactions build on Clayton Utz's work with ARTC across other financings in recent years and the firm's role advising on the Inland Rail Project and we look forward to continuing our work with ARTC.
Gresham Partners also acted for ARTC, while Allens acted for the lenders and joint lead managers.
