Notable Work
  • Altura: acted for the Receivers of this lithium miner in a bond restructure involving the sale of Altura’s Pilgangoora lithium project in Western Australia to Pilbara Minerals for A$175m.
  • Virgin: acted for the voluntary administrators, including on the successful restructure and sale of the airline to Bain Capital.
  • Arrium Mining: acted for the Administrators of the businesses, providing advice in relation to a range of instruments with shippers, international and domestic carriage and logistics providers, contractors, suppliers, infrastructure and offtaker parties.
  • Mesa Minerals Limited: acted for the Administrators in a contested Deed of Company Arrangement, including appearing as junior counsel in High Court of Australia in the special leave application, and instructing solicitor in the High Court proceedings.
  • CBA: assisted in its response to the Financial Services Royal Commission into Misconduct in the Banking, Superannuation and Financial Services Industry.
  • International funds: acting for various in relation to investments in relation to offshore assets and strategies regarding enforcement and alternatives.
  • Private company: acted in relation to a fraud-based Barnes v Addy claim in the Supreme Court of Victoria, which resulted in the successful recovery of the full amount.
  • Clients: successfully acted to obtain orders under section 588FM of the Corporations Act to avoid potential vesting of security interests.
  • Banks and financial services: advising on all aspects of Australian insolvency law, including on contingency planning, enforcement, debt recovery and
