Clayton Utz is pleased to announce that leading projects lawyer Tristan Iredell is joining the partnership in Perth, further enhancing the firm's national capabilities in the resources and infrastructure sectors.

Mr Iredell joins from Allens and brings extensive experience advising on complex domestic and international projects, with a particular focus on major infrastructure developments and resources transactions. His appointment reflects Clayton Utz’s continued investment in Western Australia and its commitment to supporting clients navigating the evolving energy and resources landscape.

Mr Iredell’s practice spans all aspects of projects, development and construction law, including advising on engineering, infrastructure and project financing matters. He has acted for sponsors, financiers, developers and contractors across Australia and Asia on major projects, with significant experience in identifying and managing legal risk, negotiating complex project documentation, and advising across the resources, energy and power, oil and gas, infrastructure and transportation sectors.

Clayton Utz Chief Executive Partner Emma Covacevich said Mr Iredell’s appointment represents another investment in the firm’s strategic focus on key growth sectors.

"Tristan is a highly regarded practitioner with deep expertise in the projects space, and a strong track record advising clients on some of the most significant developments in the market. We are delighted to welcome him to the partnership.”

Mr Iredell’s appointment follows a series of strategic hires by Clayton Utz in Perth, including the recent appointments of Bryn Hardcastle and Dave Filov - both from Allens - to the Clayton Utz partnership.

Perth Partner in Charge David Benson said Mr Iredell’s addition further strengthens the firm’s offering in Western Australia.

"Perth remains Australia's centre of resources development - including critical minerals - and there is significant investment in this sector," Mr Benson said.

“Tristan’s experience and market reputation makes him a valuable addition to our Perth office and our national projects team.

“Western Australia continues to be a critical hub for energy and resources investment, and Tristan’s expertise will be instrumental in helping our clients deliver major projects and respond to new opportunities here in the west.”
