Media release: Clayton Utz advises Energy Dome on Victoria's first long-duration battery partnership with SEC

At 20 MW/200 MWh, the CO2 Battery plant will run for 10 hours, more than double the duration of any battery currently operating in Victoria and will deliver firm capacity as the state's coal and gas generators retire. The project draws on the Latrobe Valley's existing industrial workforce and infrastructure and connects into existing substations and transmission assets.

For Energy Dome, the partnership marks a significant step in its Asia-Pacific expansion. For Clayton Utz, it adds to a growing long-duration storage and grid firming practice.

Head of Energy Alexander Danne (Partner) led the Clayton Utz team advising Energy Dome on negotiations with SEC, with key advice for Energy Dome also provided by Katy Warner (Partner), Chi Han Yeo (Senior Associate) and Sumaia Aziz (Lawyer).
