Media Release: Clayton Utz advises Wyloo Metals on its acquisition of Noront Resources

08 Apr 2022

Perth, 8 April 2022: Clayton Utz has acted as the Australian legal adviser to Wyloo Metals, a company of Tattarang, one of Australia’s largest private companies, on its successful acquisition of Canadian Nickel producer, Noront Resources Ltd (TSXV:NOT) by way of a plan of arrangement.  The transaction completed yesterday.

Perth based Corporate partners Mark Paganin and Brett Cohen, together with special counsels Stephen Neale and Armin Fazely and lawyers William Davies and Christa Queern, advised on the Australian law aspects of the transaction.

Noront is focused on the development of its high-grade Eagle’s Nest nickel, copper, platinum and palladium deposit and the world-class chromite deposits including Blackbird, Black Thor, and Big Daddy, all of which are located in the James Bay Lowlands of Ontario in an emerging metals camp known as the Ring of Fire.

Consideration to former Noront shareholders was C$1.10.  Following the acquisition, Wyloo indicated that Noront was ready to deliver a new world-class battery metals producer in the province of Ontario - one that will play a significant role in meeting the rising demand for critical minerals as the world looks to decarbonize.
