01 Jul 2020

Sydney, 1 July 2020: The new financial year also marks a new beginning at Clayton Utz, as Chief Executive Partner Bruce Cooper brings on a new Senior Leadership Team.

The appointments of Emma Covacevich (as Deputy Chief Executive Partner - Clients and Markets) and Doug Bishop (as Deputy Chief Executive Partner - People and Development), formally take effect on 1 July.

Emma and Doug have built successful practices in Corporate/Energy and Resources and Litigation respectively, and will maintain those practices. They will support Bruce in guiding the firm's key client and people initiatives.

Bruce said the team looked forward to building on Clayton Utz's success: "Working with Emma and Doug, who as long-standing and successful partners understand the business very well, will help our firm to move to another level, with smart, entrepreneurial people who deliver not only first-class services to our clients, but also unique experiences that set our firm apart."

He added: "In the immediate term, our focus will be on supporting our clients as they respond to the challenges they're facing as a result of the impacts of the global pandemic and embrace new opportunities, in whatever form that may be - working collaboratively with them as they re-shape, re-build or re-focus."
