Sydney, 9 April 2018: Clayton Utz partner and Corporate/M&A national practice group leader Rory Moriarty has been appointed to the Federal Government's Takeovers Panel.  The appointment is for a three-year term commencing 30 April.

Rory is one of three new appointments to the Panel, announced on 29 March.  An experienced corporate lawyer, Rory acts for clients across a range of industry sectors, advising on strategic Australian and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, capital raisings and governance issues.

The Takeovers Panel is a peer review body and the primary forum for resolving disputes about a takeover bid until the bid period has ended.  The Panel will have 43 members with the new appointments.

Clayton Utz has been represented on the Panel since 2003, when Perth Corporate partner Mark Paganin (now a Panel alumnus) was first appointed.  Director - Strategic / Corporate/M&A Rod Halstead was appointed in 2010 and re-appointed in 2016 for a further three years.
