Margaret is known for her work on drafting and negotiating complex technology contracts on behalf of customers, including negotiating with tier-1 technology vendors. Her experience includes:
- Department of Premier and Cabinet: Advised on the negotiation of State Purchase Contracts with Microsoft, Oracle and AWS.
- Department of Premier and Cabinet and Service Victoria: Advised on the procurement of website development and system integration services for the creation of the Service Victoria portal and systems.
- ANZ: Advised on the negotiation of software licences and cloud procurement arrangements with Oracle.
- ANZ: Advised on procurement of a range of HR-related systems as part of an enterprise-wide HR systems refresh.Including negotiating cloud arrangements with SAP.
- ANZ: Advised on the negotiation of software support arrangements and managed service arrangements with vendors including IBM and Accenture.
- Emergency Services Telecommunications Authority: Advised on the ongoing management and renegotiation of software licences and support arrangements relating to Victoria’s 000 call-taker and dispatch system.

Margaret has a deep understanding of the telecommunications industry, having acted on both the customer and supplier side of telecommunications projects. Examples of her experience include:
- Emergency Management Victoria and Emergency Services Telecommunications Authority: Advised on the State’s emergency service telecommunications networks including the Metropolitan Mobile Radio (MMR) network), Regional Mobile Radio (RMR) network, Mobile Data Network (MDN), StateNet Mobile Radio Network (SMR) and emergency alert service.As part of these projects, Margaret has advised on day-to-day contract management issues, as well as drafting and negotiating variations and renewals and providing legal input into strategic reviews of the State’s emergency services telecommunications strategy.
- Ahpra: Advised on a tender for the procurement of enterprise-wide telecommunications services.
- ANZ: Advised on ANZ’s $500m+ enterprise-wide procurement of telecommunications services from Optus.
- Optus: Acted for Optus in negotiating enterprise-wide telecommunications service agreements with customers including GE Australia.
- Optus: Negotiated infrastructure related arrangements, including agreements granting an indefeasible right to use fibre.
- nbn: Advised on the negotiation of an agreement with ViaSat for the provision of satellite internet access for use on commercial aircraft (including negotiation of commercial and technical schedules).
- nbn: Advised on the negotiation of network rollout and maintenance agreements with third party technical suppliers.
