  • Newmont Canada FN Holdings ULC and Newmont Capital Limited v Commissioner of Taxation: Acted for Newmont over eight years in complex Federal Court tax proceedings, culminating in a successful outcome. The matter required sustained cross-disciplinary collaboration across the firm's disputes and tax teams.

  • Mirabela Nickel (In Rec): Acted for the receivers and managers in a complex multi-proceeding, multi-jurisdictional litigation arising from the sale of a Brazilian nickel asset within a receivership — spanning the WA Supreme Court, Court of Appeal, Federal Court, and High Court. The proceedings engaged contractual interpretation, Australian Consumer Law, and multiparty obligations, culminating in successful judgments and settlements.

  • Confidential Listed Mining Company: Acted in a mining royalty dispute between a multinational and an Australian listed company, involving contractual interpretation, extensive expert evidence, equitable principles, and third-party loss.

  • Confidential Multinational Company: Acted for a multinational company in Federal Court proceedings against the Commissioner of Taxation concerning a series of transactions by a foreign entity and whether those transactions gave rise to a capital gain under tax legislation.

  • Alinta: Acted for Alinta on a range of advisory matters including customer solvency advice, ipso facto contract review of major contracts, misleading and deceptive conduct advice and other ACL matters, and the interplay between construction contracts and insolvency law.

  • Decmil: Led public examinations and evidence review in New Zealand proceedings concerning the construction of modular prison cells for the Department of Corrections, achieving a successful settlement.

  • Termite: Acted for former directors of a mining company in Federal Court primary and appeal proceedings for breach of directors' duties, successfully negotiating a settlement and positive outcome for the client.

  • Arbitration: Acting for a resources company in an arbitration under the Australian Centre for International Commercial Arbitration Rules concerning a shareholder dispute.
