Emma is an experienced commercial litigator with over 25 years' experience in private practice (in both Australia and the United Kingdom) advising corporate, government and regulatory clients across a broad range of issues.

Department of Health: acted in the class actions issued by junior doctors in the Federal Court of Australia.
CommInsure: acted in the Royal Commission into Misconduct in the Banking, Superannuation and Financial Services Industry.
Salvation Army: acted in the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse.
Private corporate clients: acted for clients across a range of industries (health, property development, mining, financial services, manufacturing), including Vision Eye Institute, Healius, ANZ, EnergyAustralia, Vale Australia, OfficeMax, Monash University, IOOF.
Numerous policyholder clients: acted in contested Federal Court of Australia proceedings against insurers in relation to claims under Industrial Special Risk policies for more than $50 million.
Individual policyholders: acted in the recent group test case proceedings brought by insurers to resolve key issues of construction and the operation of business interruption insurance policies in relation to COVID-19-related losses.
Corporate policyholder clients: acted in claims against insurers, including for Tenix, IOOF, ANZ, Singapore Power, TruEnergy, UBI, RACV, Australian Pipe & Tube and Renex.
Victorian Government: acts in relation to claims arising from the compulsory acquisition of land under the Land Acquisition & Compensation Act.
