Clayton Utz Community Partner Project New Dawn needs your help

28 Nov 2019

Project New Dawn's mission is to help homeless people re-engage with mainstream society through ongoing employment and housing opportunities. More than just a bed for the night, Project New Dawn aims to create a solid pathway for the future allowing program participants to stand on their own two feet again.

Participants join a 12-18 month program which places them in a real job and home. Using their income, participants pay their share of rent and utilities. At the end of the program, with a savings and rental track record, participants graduate from the program and continue their own independent lives.

That's where you come in.

Employment opportunities are generally provided by like-minded corporates with senior management support. They commit to offering a 12-18 month part-time employment contract, provided participants observe the usual employment conditions and guidelines. Jobs usually provide a minimum income of $500 per week.

Project New Dawn is in need of new potential employers. If your business could offer placement opportunities to program participants, or is generally interested in supporting or finding out more about Project New Dawn, please contact Project New Dawn at [email protected].

Our Community Connect program has partnered with Project New Dawn since its creation in 2007, providing it with funding, pro bono legal assistance, in-kind administrative support, volunteering and fundraising (and, in the shape of Andrew Walker, a volunteer board member too).
