Forensic Technology Services Paralegal

Our Forensic Technology Services Paralegals (FTS) contribute on a casual basis, dedicating typically three or more days per week to their role while pursuing their university studies.

Program details

As an FTS paralegal, you'll engage in diverse tasks and experience the close collaboration between FTS and Legal practice groups, mainly through eDiscovery work. You'll also get exposure to working with our Data Scientists, Digital IT Experts, AI whispers, accountants, and Cyber specialists. Being in FTS means you'll get a strong understanding of how technology and the law intersect and will continue to synergize in the future.

While eDiscovery works very closely with Commercial Litigation, Public Sector and Competition, we also work with all practice groups across the firm. This will give you a view to a wide variety of matters, including:

  • litigation;
  • regulatory work;
  • Royal Commissions and standing orders;
  • trial support; or
  • internal secondments, directly gaining insights into different practice group operations.

You don't need a wealth of experience to be an FTS paralegal, but you do need the right attitude, treating every task you undertake as a chance to learn and grow. We want to provide as many opportunities as possible and intend to upskill you with the focus on using technology to provide a depth of service and technical expertise which will one day, in turn, create a more efficient Clayton Utz.

Joining the FTS paralegal team after the summer clerkship provided an opportunity to continue networking and learning with CU Lawyers. You will master your attention to detail, working within strict timelines, and most importantly how to communicate in a highly professional environment.
