
Media release: Clayton Utz advises IKEA Australia on $163.75 mil Perth acquisition

Clayton Utz is pleased to have advised Swedish multinational retailer IKEA on its acquisition of 6 Sunray Drive, Innaloo, encompassing Perth's only large format IKEA store for $163.75 million from GDI No.43 Property Trust.
The two-level, 27,000m² IKEA store includes showrooms, offices, a restaurant, Swedish food store, warehousing, and leased retail units.
Clayton Utz Perth partner Simon Taskunas led the firm's team, together with senior associate Regina Bradford, and with key support from stamp duty specialist partner Keshni Maharaj, lawyers Kevin Mateiu and Weitao Zhao, and graduate-at-law Mandy Truong.
Mr Taskunas said the firm was proud to have supported IKEA on the acquisition, which reflects the retailer’s long-standing presence in Australia.
