Media Release: The Clayton Utz Art Partnership launches third Sydney exhibition

24 Oct 2018

Sydney, 24 October 2018: Clayton Utz last night launched the third Sydney exhibition in the Clayton Utz Art Partnership, featuring award-winning artists Euan Macleod and Vanessa Stockard.

The new exhibition showcases 36 pieces by Euan, a landscape artist whose work is featured in prominent collections across the trans-Tasman region and the globe. Euan has won several awards during his career, including the prestigious Archibald Prize (1999) and Sulman Prize (2001).

Complementing Euan's works are 58 pieces, including 21 self-portraits, by young career artist Vanessa Stockard. A two-time Archibald Prize finalist, Vanessa is a still-life, portrait and landscape painter with an upcoming exhibition in New York.

Speaking at the exhibition's launch event, Deputy Chief Executive Partner Bruce Cooper said the firm was pleased to be able to offer its people, clients and the wider Sydney business community another opportunity to connect with Australian visual arts.

"Clayton Utz continues to push boundaries. Complementing our world-class pro bono and community programs is our continuing commitment to Australia's cultural landscape and engaging in event conversations beyond the common. We're delighted to deliver our clients and our people the opportunity to appreciate distinguished artists of Euan's and Vanessa's calibre whose work will enhance our Bligh Street offices over the next six months."

The firm's earlier Sydney exhibitions showcased artworks by Jason Benjamin and Nick Collerson, as well as Wendy Sharpe and Clara Adolphs. The inaugural Melbourne exhibition, launched in July 2018, continues to display artworks by Jon Cattapan and Dane Lovett.

The Clayton Utz Art Partnership is an uncommon collaboration between the firm and, each six months, an established and an emerging artist. Showcasing the work of these different artists in its gallery-like Sydney office and in its prestigious 333 Collins Street home, the Partnership creates opportunities for the firm, its people, it clients and the Australian arts community to engage with each other.

The Clayton Utz Art Partnership is managed and curated by 3:33 Art Projects.
