Rebooting privacy 2.0 – improving privacy compliance

Overview

Now more than ever, it is critical to put privacy considerations front and centre in compliance, governance and decision-making processes. Indeed, privacy should be given the same high priority as any other issue which can significantly and materially adversely impact on an organisation’s financial, operational and reputational position.

We have industry-leading experience and expertise to work with you to ensure that your organisation is embedding privacy considerations into its governance and decision-making processes to efficiently manage privacy compliance and effectively mitigate growing privacy risks.

But embedding privacy compliance and risk management can seem daunting – particularly given how much personal information some agencies can hold.

This program, run by Eleanor Dickens and Sam Weston, teaches that there are two essential first steps that organisations must take to tackle these challenges:

  • Refresh and reboot – In light of significant and ongoing reforms to the Queensland and Commonwealth information privacy law regimes, we recommend that all organisations take steps immediately to ensure that they are compliant with the privacy regulatory framework, with the first step being to properly understand what privacy compliance looks like from legal, practical and operational settings and to properly understand the nature of the personal information that the organisation holds.

  • Put privacy first – injecting privacy considerations into compliance, governance and decision-making frameworks. It is essential to think of privacy in the same way as any other risk in an organisation’s compliance, governance and decision-making frameworks and processes.

Meet the trainers

What our clients say

Rebooting privacy 2.0 – improving privacy compliance

The training was outstanding. Eleanor and Sam made a complex, nuanced topic readily understandable. Further, the session provided a broad overview of the topic but with specific, practical examples that enabled it to be applied at an assessment level.

The presentation and material covered was excellent.

It’s clear that Eleanor is a market leader and expert in this space. Her deep, thoughtful knowledge was evident. I was particularly impressed at the platform given to Sam Weston to showcase his significant skills and knowledge.
