Romy is an experienced construction and projects lawyer who advises on all aspects of major project delivery across the infrastructure, mining, energy, resources and real estate sectors.
She acts for a diverse range of clients, including government and quasi-government entities, project companies, consortiums, developers, contractors and financiers. She provides strategic advice across the full project lifecycle, working closely with clients to identify and manage legal risk, develop procurement strategies, negotiate key contracts and resolve delivery issues as they arise.
Romy was recognised as a Construction Law Rising Star in Western Australia, Doyles Guide.
* Perth Airport: Advising on its landmark $5 billion infrastructure redevelopment, including the appointment of a capital partner (alliance contract), the construction and development of a new hotel, the relocation of various airlines and their infrastructure, and the complex coordination and interface between the various aspects of the projects.
* Waterloo Renewal Project: Advising Stockland and its consortium partners on Australia's largest social housing redevelopment, including negotiating and drafting a comprehensive suite of transaction documents and coordinating with multiple stakeholders including community housing providers and Homes NSW.
* Curtin University Student Accommodation Project: Advising the Project Company on an ongoing basis in relation to new student accommodation facilities at Curtin University, on various issues relating to the contractor entering voluntary administration as well as the refinancing of the current arrangements.
* Causeway Pedestrian and Cyclist Bridges Project: Advising City of Perth and drafting a complex development agreement and construction licence for the project.
* AngloGold Ashanti: Advising on a range of matters, including drafting and negotiating major contracts for operations at Tropicana and Sunrise Dam.
* Liontown Resources Limited: Advising Liontown in connection with its lithium mine development, including advising on, drafting and negotiating procurement and project-related documentation.
* University of Western Australia: Advising on and preparing contracts in connection with a prototype wave energy project.
* An energy company: Negotiating the development agreement and power purchase agreement in connection with the proposed construction and operation of a hybrid power station (consisting of wind, solar and thermal energy generation).
* Amazon UK: Advising on drafting and negotiating the development documentation for several distribution centres across the UK.
* Google UK: Advising on the fit-out of Google's new headquarters at 6 St Pancras Square.
