Overview

An experienced commercial lawyer with special expertise in technology transactions and projects. Monique has worked on several projects of State and national significance. Her experience spans the full spectrum of commercial contracts, cyber-security, "Proptech", major systems integration projects, the utilisation of cloud-based solutions, software licensing and development and emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence. Another core part of Monique's practice is privacy law, data protection and data access. She is regularly called upon to assist clients to navigate privacy legislation.

Notable Work
  • Advising Transport for NSW in connection with its organisational wide ICT transformation project to meet its ongoing and future technology requirements.
  • Assisting the Australian Digital Health Agency with respect to its procurement and contract and associated negotiations for the provision of health API Gateway Services.
  • Advising Defence with respect to its Defence Force Recruiting procurement to enable Defence to meet its core recruiting capability.
  • Assisting various private sector clients to undertake privacy audits and to set up privacy compliance frameworks, including drafting privacy notices and policies to ensure compliance with relevant privacy laws, including the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth)
  • Advising a Commonwealth agency in relation to its privacy impact assessment for the development and use of a proposed IT platform that would involve the collection and storage of a large number of sensitive datasets.
  • Advising the Department of Customer Services (DCS) with respect to its innovative, market-led building assurance solution platform to track a building's provenance beyond basic compliance.
  • Advising DCS in relation to the Procure IT Transformation Project to develop the new MICTA/ICTA Contracting Framework for the procurement of high risk or high value ICT goods and services by NSW Government agencies.
  • Advising the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry in relation to the new Next Export Documentation system.
