Overview

An experienced commercial property lawyer who helps clients with the sale, purchase, financing and construction of commercial, industrial and domestic properties. Other advice includes strata title developments, and commercial and retail leasing. Anne has acted for both local and state government in the procurement and delivery of some of the largest projects in Australia.

Notable Work

Barangaroo Delivery Authority (now Infrastructure NSW): acted for government regarding the development of Barangaroo. The work involved all facets of the procurement/delivery phases of the Barangaroo South developments and Headland Park, including drafting and negotiating tender documents, Project Deeds and side arrangements with Investors and financiers. Anne has also been advising INSW regarding the Crown Sydney Hotel Resort having been involved with the project since the original unsolicited proposal.
Place Management NSW (PMNSW): acted in relation to the direct negotiations for the redevelopment of the former IMAX Theatre complex in Darling Harbour as the new W Sydney hotel and 85 Harrington Street, The Rocks as a mixed use development. Anne drafted and negotiated the Agreement for Lease and advised PMNSW throughout the project in matters regarding contract administration, complex subdivision documents, granting leases and the delivery of public domain and other works for PMNSW.
Department of Enterprise, Industry and Trade (DEIT): acted in relation to the unsolicited proposal from Mirvac for the revitalisation of the Harbourside Shopping Centre at Darling Harbour. Anne continues to act for PMNSW in relation to the project.
Sydney Olympic Park Authority (SOPA): acted on most of the new or proposed developments at Sydney Olympic Park, over the last 15 years including a serviced apartment complex, several office buildings and mixed used developments, several sports centres of excellence, a pub, a hospital and a wave park/surf facility. These deals involved public sector tenders (often 2 staged) and negotiating and drafting public sector Project Deeds, planning agreements, commercial end-use requirements and development covenants. Anne has also advised SOPA in relation to Opal Tower and its liability for defects under the Home Building Act 1989 (NSW).
Transport for NSW(TfNSW): team member acting in relation to freehold and leasehold acquisitions for the Sydney Metro Northwest project, including the significant acquisitions of shopping centres and industrial properties. Anne has worked closely with the commercial advisers and is an integral part of the property team for this project, working to streamline processes to ensure the tight project timeframes are met.
Hotel experience: Anne has experience in hotel transactions, including advising Place Management NSW on the disposal of Novotel Sydney, Park Hyatt, Shangri-La Hotel, as well as advising Tourism Asset Holdings Limited regarding the disposal of various hotels.
