Cars and taxis can drop off on Collins Street or Flinders Lane, or alternatively in the loading bay at the rear of the building on Flinders Lane.
Both entries, the front (Collins Street) and rear (Flinders Lane) have stairs. There is a breeze way at the front (Collins Street) with access via an automatic door into the lobby of the building. This access point has an intercom to our security team, who are on site 24/7 to assist with access where required.

Entrances
The entrance to the Melbourne office on level 18 is signed with an CU branded logo and is step-free which leads to reception.
Reception staff will be able to respond to specific requests or requirements from visitors with disability, for example accessible pathways, requests for different seating, changes in lighting, access to hearing loops etc. in meeting rooms.
Security Gates and Doors
The security gates have been designed to accommodate those with mobility issues and/or wheelchair users. The gates are monitored at all times and our security staff will operate them for you / your visitor.
Lifts
For assistance with the lifts our security team are onsite to help with access to our level 18 reception area. The lifts call buttons are big round gold buttons, and to call the lift you are require to press either press them up or down. No audible or visual notification of the lift car arriving.
Parking
There is on-site car parking available for visitors with disability. Parking spaces must be pre-booked. Please contact our reception staff on (03) 9286 6600 or via email [email protected] for assistance.
Facilities
Induction loops - hearing
An induction loop is available in our reception area and most meeting rooms. Please ask Reception staff for further information.
Wireless Access
Guest Wi-Fi is available throughout the Melbourne office. Please ask at reception for further details.
Catering and restaurant facilities
In most instances catering will be delivered to your meeting room. However, accessible catering facilities are also available in our cafe. Please ask any member of the catering team if your visitor requires assistance at the serving counter and advise the catering team in advance of any special dietary requirements prior to the visit.
Assistance animals
Guide dogs or any animals trained to assist people with disability are welcome. Water can be provided by our catering team. The team can provide a moisture absorbent mat.
Bathrooms
Accessible bathrooms are located opposite our main boardroom on level 18.
Emergencies
Evacuation Instructions for mobility impaired visitors
In the unlikely event of an emergency evacuation, visitors with disability, who are unable to manage the stairs will be evacuated by emergency services. A warden or first aid officer will wait with anyone who cannot evacuate via the stairs.
Please follow this procedure in the event of an evacuation:
- Escort your guest to one of the refuge points at the fire stairs as soon as the alarm sounds. The refuges are located in the lobby of the staircases on each floor and are protected from the effects of fire and smoke. Do not use refuges on staircase unless you have to.
- Use the emergency telephone (in the red box) to notify Security that you are in the refuge.
- Security will be able to identify your location through the Fire Control Centre.
- Security will then bring the fireman’s lift to your location and evacuate you.
