Caitlin is a skilled commercial litigator, with experience spanning single proceedings to large-scale, complex class actions and multi-proceeding claims across a range of subject matters, including banking and financial services, automotive and product liability claims.

In addition to her litigation and disputes experience, Caitlin regularly assists clients in navigating the complexities of the regulatory regimes established by the therapeutic goods legislation and Australian Consumer Law.

Notable Work
  • A large retailer: defending a wage underpayment class action.
  • Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA): part of the team that assisted on the Royal Commission into Misconduct in the Banking, Superannuation and Financial Services industry.
  • CBA/Storm Financial: assisted in the defence of multiple proceedings arising from the provision of financial advice by Storm Financial. The proceedings included regulatory proceedings, representative proceedings and single applicant proceedings in the Federal Court of Australia and the Supreme Court of Queensland.
  • CBA and Colonial Mutual Life Assurance Society Limited (CMLA): acted in a class action in the Federal Court of Australia concerning the sale of credit insurance products.
  • Johnson & Johnson (Australia) Pty Limited: represented in the defence of class action proceedings involving Australian claimants who allege they suffered complications relating to surgical mesh and tape products. The hearing ran for more than 85 sitting days over more than seven months.
  • Hino Motors Ltd (Hino Motors): acting in a class action in relation to alleged misconduct concerning engine certification of certain Hino diesel vehicles.
  • National retailer: acted on a large-scale consumer goods product recall and remediation action. This involved engaging subject-matter experts to provide expert advice and reports, project management and liaison with regulators.
  • Personal injury litigation: advising defendants in product liability personal injury claims.
  • Regulatory advisory practice: regularly provides advice to Australian and overseas clients in the pharmaceutical and medical device industries on their obligations under Australian law and industry codes. Her work includes regulation of medical device products, the marketing and promotion of pharmaceutical and medical device products, product safety and recall issues.
