Approach to CU

The Brisbane Office is located within the CBD in the Riparian Plaza Building which is 650mtrs from Central Station. Accessibility information can be viewed via the Translink website alternatively contact Translink on 13 12 30.

Some of the approaching streets to Riparian Plaza have cobblestone pathways. Once at the building it is all tile with a slight elevation.

There is a “Drop off” Zone as part of the Porte-cochere at the front of the building as pictured below. The wheelchair drop-off zone is directly behind the Riparian Plaza sign. 

The overall route through the foyer to Clayton Utz offices is wide and step free.

The entrance to the Brisbane office is signed with a Riparian Plaza logo and is step-free. The front door is manned during the day by the building concierge. Our reception is on level 28 and has lift access during business hours (8.00am to 6.00pm).

The main reception desk has been designed to accommodate wheelchair users. The lowered section of the counter is on the left-hand side of reception. Our Reception and Facilities team will be available to respond to any specific requests or requirements for visitors with disability.


Passenger lifts serve each floor in the building and have been designed to accommodate wheelchair and visitors with disability. Pressing the wheelchair button holds the lift doors open for a longer period of time allowing those with mobility impairments time to access the lift safely. The lifts include both visual and audible notifications that the lift has arrived. Building concierge will also assist with the calling and use of the lifts.

Induction loops - hearing

An induction loop is available in meeting room 8. Please ask Reception staff for further information.

Wireless Access

Guest Wi-Fi is available throughout the building. Please ask at reception for further details.

Catering and restaurant facilities

In most instances catering will be delivered to your meeting room. Please advise the catering team in advance of any special dietary requirements prior to the visit.

Assistance animals

Guide dogs or any animals trained to assist people with disability are welcome. Water can be provided by our catering team. The closest relief area for animals is the botanical gardens. The team can provide a moisture absorbent mat.


Accessible bathrooms are located on each floor.  The facilities include an emergency distress alarm.


Evacuation Instructions for mobility impaired visitors

In the unlikely event of an emergency evacuation, mobility impaired visitors  (and hosts) who are unable to manage the stairs will be evacuated using the emergency lifts.

Please follow this procedure in the event of an evacuation:

  • Escort your guest to the area outside of the fire stairs on the Story Bridge side of the building as soon as the alarm sounds.  Do not use refuges on staircase unless you have to.
  • Use the emergency telephone (in the red box) to notify Security that you are in the refuge.
  • Security will be able to identify your location through the Fire Control Centre.
  • Security will then bring the fireman’s lift to your location and evacuate you.
