Rob brings nearly 30 years' experience both as a leading litigation and dispute resolution practitioner.

Formerly the Chief Executive Partner (CEP) of Clayton Utz, a role he held from 2014 to 2020, Rob plays a lead role in assisting the firm's key clients on their strategic and reputation-critical disputes. With his extensive governance experience, he regularly advises boards and leadership teams on regulatory and risk management matters for private and public organisations.

In addition to his role as the CEP of the firm, Rob also served as Partner in Charge of the Canberra office from 2000 to 2004, where he played a key role overseeing Government relationships.

Rob was a member of the Business Council of Australia's Economic Policy & Competitiveness and Regulatory & Compliance Committees from 2014 to 2020.

Rob has also been recognised by the peer review guide "Best Lawyers" as one of Australia's best lawyers in Litigation, ADR and Public Law for more than the last decade.

He brings extensive technical expertise in handling complex, reputation-criticial commercial disputes. He is regularly called on to oversee the project management of major matters, and developing and successfully executing litigation strategy.

From his close working relationship with the firm's Forensic and Technology Services team, Rob ensures his clients benefit from the application of the latest technology and data analytics to maximise dispute and investigation efficiency.

Rob has a proven capability in crisis planning and response management, stakeholder recognition and reputation management - and leads clients through sensitive and complex investigations.

He works with his clients to minimise risk, and when litigation is unavoidable, he advises on the development and execution of effective litigation strategies aligned to the business objectives.
