Barangaroo Delivery Authority - Barangaroo Project

As team leader for the firm, Gary is acting in relation to the procurement and development of the Barangaroo Project. The Barangaroo Project is a $6 billion prestigious major urban renewal project which will create a world benchmark in waterfront development. Gary's critical role in this project reinforces his position as the "go to" person for major urban renewal projects. As key strategic adviser, Gary is advising in relation to all facets of the procurement and delivery phases of the project including drafting, negotiation and finalisation of all legal documentation.


Infrastructure NSW - Sydney International Convention and Exhibition Centre

Gary is joint team leader advising on the procurement of the new convention, exhibition and entertainment centre within the precinct of the existing Sydney Convention, Exhibition and Entertainment Centres and car park and associated commercial redevelopment of the precinct. This project involves substantial new residential, retail, commercial and public domain built form. Gary's role also spans issues associated with the interface of the new built form with the existing built form and public domain components of Darling Harbour.


Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority (SHFA) – Darling Quarter Redevelopment

Gary was appointed by the Board of SHFA to act in relation to the tender process, and the legal and commercial negotiations for the Darling Quarter Redevelopment Project. The Darling Quarter redevelopment project ($500 million ‒ estimated completion value) involved the development and construction of a mixed-use (commercial, retail, cultural, recreation and entertainment) development located on the former Sega world site at Darling Harbour.


Department of Planning / Urban Growth NSW – Rouse Hill Regional Centre

  • Gary acted in relation to all facets of the procurement, delivery, and negotiation of all project documentation for the development of a mixed-use major regional centre with retail, commercial and residential components. The project is valued in excess of $1.5 billion. Gary has played a critical role in providing strategic advice in relation to the project, including in relation to the North West Rail Link and Station proposed for Rouse Hill, adjacent to the Rouse Hill Regional Centre.

Mirvac ‒ 8 Chifley Square
Gary is acting for Mirvac in connection with the development of a new CBD office building. Gary advised on, and documented the structuring of a joint venture involving Keppel-REIT, one of the largest REITs in Singapore, in taking a 50% equity stake, including the structuring of the financing and development of the major new commercial office complex in Sydney.

Mirvac ‒ 200 George Street
Gary acted for Mirvac in connection with the sale of a part interest in 200 George Street to AMP. The transaction also involved a Co-Owners Agreement with AMP for the development of the property. 200 George Street will become a landmark premium commercial office tower and will become the new Sydney headquarters of Ernst & Young.
