Chris Boge advises government authorities and government owned corporations on a range of issues, including commercial projects and transactions and property related matters.
For many years he worked for the Queensland Government advising departments and agencies in various areas including property law, land tenure, commercial contracting, competition law, statutory interpretation and native title.
Chris is a recognised land tenure expert having authored several texts in the area. He is also a part-time law lecturer and regular speaker at legal conferences.
Chris is uniquely positioned to provide specialist advice on, and apply practical knowledge to, a variety of commercial and government legal issues and transactions.

Department of Public Works: For many years Chris led a team of lawyers in acting for the Government Office Accommodation Unit of the Department of Public Works in negotiating and settling leases and related agreements for the Queensland Government and providing related specialist advice. With experience as the principal drafter of the Queensland Government's standard leases, Chris recently advised the unit in relation to the development of standard "green lease" templates.
Queensland Government: Recently Chris was specifically retained to review key legislation for the Queensland Government. This review involved the development of recommendations for the adoption of new legislative models in response to significant land issues in Queensland and the provision of associated specialist legal and policy advice
Department of Housing: Chris was the Department of Housing's leading legal adviser and negotiator in the development of a unique tenure restructuring model for the conversion of commercial and retail perpetual leases and related State land to freehold land under a layered community titles scheme. The model followed extensive negotiations with stakeholders, the development of site-specific legislation, and the provision of advice in many areas including land acquisition powers and compensation, land tenure structuring, statutory construction and stamp duty, and the negotiation of various documents.
Department of Housing: Chris provided expert advice to the Department of Housing relating to the drafting of the Housing Act 2003 provisions dealing with State leasehold land and the drafting of unique freehold provisions for the conversion of leases.
