8 October 2021: Clayton Utz is proud to again feature among the organisations named as Australia's Top 40 Best Workplaces To Give Back for 2021, an initiative of workplace giving solutions provider, Good Company.
The list celebrates employers that are considered the best (as assessed against specific criteria) at empowering their people to give back: via payroll giving, paid volunteer leave, matching donations, fundraising, sponsorship and other pro-social activities. Clayton Utz was ranked number 12 on this year's list, up from 25 in 2020.
Clayton Utz National Manager - Community and Sustainability, Marcus Ross, said he took pride in our people's strong culture of giving and how it made a tangible impact to the ability of a range of community organisations to deliver their vital services:
We're very conscious of developing long term multifaceted relationships with charities: matching donations - of time and money - with where they are most needed. During COVID-19, this has meant shifting our support to meet the priorities of the organisations we work with. That's the ethos of our approach to our relationships with our community partners, and we're so proud to be able to support them.
- 29 per cent of our people (492 partners and employees) volunteered with our 20+ community partners (located around Australia), including Ardoch, Beacon Foundation, FareShare, Fitted for Work, Ecumenical Coffee Brigade, Wirrpanda Foundation and Dress for Success.
- 32 per cent participated in our Workplace Giving program, providing vital support to the Clayton Utz Foundation which made $720,693 in grants, on top of $135,000 raised by our people.
Since 2003, Clayton Utz Foundation grants totalling $12.5 million have supported 280 charities that are addressing disadvantage and facilitating access to justice.
