Media Release: Clayton Utz's Mark Geritz and Bruce Lloyd among winners at 2019 Lawyers Weekly Partner of the Year awards

Clayton Utz partners Mark Geritz and Bruce Lloyd were among the law firm partners recognised for their professional achievements, leadership and broader contributions to the firm and the profession at the annual Lawyers Weekly Partner of the Year Awards held in Sydney on 30 May.

For the second year running Mark Geritz took out the award for Native Title, Planning and Environment Partner of the Year.  Among his achievements, Mark has been instrumental in providing native title and indigenous heritage advice and negotiating and drafting native title and indigenous heritage agreements on some of Australia's largest resources and other projects in addition to Australia’s largest native title settlement. He is also passionate about mentoring younger lawyers, and is an advocate for mental health as well as diversity and inclusion. Mark said he thanked his "superb team and wonderful clients" for making his award win possible.

Bruce was named Media and Telecommunications Partner of the Year and also took out the night's top accolade - the Partner of the Year Excellence Award. Bruce's clients include leading global multinational technology companies and social media enterprises, and he has advised on some of the most significant telecommunications infrastructure projects in Australia.  Bruce has also taken a lead role in guiding and mentoring the next generation of lawyers by fostering a culture where younger lawyers remain stimulated and engaged through mentoring programs and networking opportunities.

Clayton Utz Chief Executive Partner Rob Cutler congratulated Mark and Bruce on their recognition. "It's great to see our partners acknowledged for the contributions they make not only to our firm, but also the wider profession. We're very proud of Mark, Bruce and all of our partners who were finalists for awards."
