Media Release: Clayton Utz's Government and Intellectual Property teams among winners at 2018 Lawyers Weekly Australian Law Awards

Sydney,11 September 2018: Clayton Utz's Public Sector and Intellectual Property & Technology teams were singled out for accolades at the 2018 Lawyers Weekly Australian Law Awards held in Sydney on 31 August.

The Team of the Year awards for Government and Intellectual Property respectively were awarded to Clayton Utz for outstanding work and client outcomes achieved in the last financial year.

Clayton Utz Public Sector national practice group leader Jamie Doran said the Government Team of the Year award reflected the team's outstanding contributions to major government initiatives in 2017 and its continued growth.

"Our Public Sector team enjoys the challenge and diversity of the matters on which our government clients engage us. We have a truly national team that understands the unique environment in which government operates and how to really help government manage complex legal issues to achieve outcomes which are in the public interest. We're proud of that reputation."

John Collins, the IP & Technology national practice group leader, said the Intellectual Property Team of the Year award was the second major accolade for the team in 2018. "It's great to see our team's expertise and the calibre of the clients and matters that we attract, both in Australia and across the globe, recognised out in the market."

Now in their 18th year, the Lawyers Weekly Australian Law Awards celebrate major achievements and outstanding players within the legal industry. This year's black-tie awards event was held at The Star Sydney and attracted over 800 industry professionals.
