Sydney, 15 September 2017: Clayton Utz took out two awards - Property Team of the Year and Banking and Finance Team of the Year - at the 2017 Lawyers Weekly Australian Law Awards held in Sydney on 1 September.
Clayton Utz Real Estate national practice group leader Nikki Robinson accepted the Property Team of the Year award flanked by two of her team members, Jennifer Harris (a finalist for Special Counsel of the Year) and Eugene Tan (a finalist for Senior Associate of the Year).
"Our success is our clients' success," said Nikki. "Like our clients, our team is talented, hard-working and enjoys collaborating to deliver exceptional outcomes on complex matters. We're proud to have our work recognised. As a team, we support one another and value the contribution that each person makes - we could not do the fantastic work without this approach. We also have a lot of fun as a team - which I really think is the winning factor. " Among the more high-profile transactions on which Clayton Utz is the primary legal adviser are the landmark $10 billion Barangaroo project, and the $2 billion Parramatta Square Redevelopment.
Deputy Chief Executive Partner Bruce Cooper said the Banking and Finance Team of the Year award reflected the team's involvement in some of 2016's biggest deals. "Our finance team has a reputation for applying smart, strategic thinking to deals and getting them over the line. This has been critical to the successful completion of transactions such as Blackstone's $2 billion acquisition of industrial asset portfolios from Goodman Group, the $16.2 billion partial lease of Ausgrid by IFM Investors and AustralianSuper, and the $9.2 billion acquisition of Asciano's rail assets as part of its takeover and demerger."
Now in their 17th year, the Lawyers Weekly Australian Law Awards celebrate excellence in law, recognising the outstanding contributions of the legal industry's leading individuals, teams and firms.
