Brisbane, 26 September 2017: Forty talented artists have been announced today as finalists for the $10,000 2017 Clayton Utz Art Award.
The finalists were selected from 280 entries, and represent a diverse mix of artistic styles and media.
Art consultant, author and Museum of Brisbane board director Alison Kubler will judge this year's Award. Alison is the co-author of Art/Fashion in the 21st Century, a director of mc/k art consultants and director of KUBLER Consulting.
The winner will be announced at a function at Clayton Utz' Brisbane offices on Tuesday 10 October, where the finalists' works will be on display to the artists and guests.
Established in 2008 as the LAUNCH: Clayton Utz Travelling Arts Scholarship, and then known as the LAUNCH Art Award, the Clayton Utz Art Award is open to Queensland based artists, or artists with a strong connection to the state.
In the past decade, the Award has attracted many talented emerging and established artists, and provided them with a platform to showcase their work to a wider audience.
Clayton Utz would like to acknowledge and thank Brett Lethbridge of Lethbridge Gallery for his continued support in coordinating and managing the Clayton Utz Art Award.
