Sydney, 8 March 2016: Rod Halstead has been reappointed to the Federal Government's Takeovers Panel for a three-year term, effective today. Rod was first appointed to the Panel in 2010.
Rod is a Director in the Clayton Utz Mergers and Acquisitions Group and is consistently rated amongst the top Australian lawyers in this field. He regularly advises the senior management and boards of major Australian companies whose securities are publically traded with respect to complex governance and board responsibility issues which arise in the pursuit of their corporate objectives.
The Takeovers Panel is a peer review body and the primary forum for resolving disputes about a takeover bid until the bid period has ended. There are now 39 members of the Panel appointed from the active members of Australia's takeovers and business communities.
Clayton Utz Corporate partner Karen Evans-Cullen is also a current member of the Panel, having been appointed in 2014. Karen is an experienced M&A lawyer, and has advised on many complex and strategic M&A transactions across a broad range of industry sectors.
