Clayton Utz lawyer recognised for outstanding contribution to insurance law industry

Sydney, 2 November 2012: Clayton Utz Insurance partner Peter Mann was last night awarded the 2012 Australian Insurance Law Association (AILA) Prize for his outstanding contribution to the insurance law industry, at the AILA's annual conference dinner.

Each year the AILA awards the prize to an industry leader who has demonstrated exceptional service to insurance law and insurance law education.

Clayton Utz Insurance practice head Fred Hawke said Peter was a deserving recipient of the prize. "Peter continues to make a very valuable contribution to the practice of insurance law in Australia and Clayton Utz is proud to see his hard work recognised."

Last month the Honourable Justice James Allsop officially launched the fifth edition of Peter's text, Mann’s Annotated Insurance Contracts Act, at a function at Clayton Utz's 1 Bligh offices. The text remains the leading Australian resource on the Insurance Contracts Act for insurance lawyers, insurance professionals, academics and students.

Peter is now the third member of the Clayton Utz Insurance team to be awarded the prestigious prize, joining Fred Hawke and consultant Nancy Milne.
