Clayton Utz advises Ridley Corporation on $77 million acquisition of BPL Melbourne

Melbourne, 14 November 2012: Clayton Utz has advised ASX listed Ridley Corporation Limited ("Ridley Corporation") on its acquisition of BPL Melbourne Pty Ltd ("BPL Melbourne") from the Baiada poultry group for $77 million, announced to the market on Friday 9 November.
Clayton Utz Melbourne Corporate partner Michael Linehan led the firm's team, which also included senior associate John Brewster and lawyers Quentin Reidy and Brooke Coghlan.
Ridley Corporation is Australia's largest provider of high performance animal nutrition solutions and value-added solar salt. Its acquisition of BPL Melbourne, Victoria's leading renderer of poultry and mammalian waste products, further positions Ridley Corporation in this growing industry segment.
Clayton Utz and Michael Linehan have advised Ridley Corporation on a number of strategic transactions over the last 2 years, including its acquisitions of the Camilleri rendering business, the LNT business, and its divestment of the Corowafeed mill.
