Clayton Utz among finalists at 2012 Australasia Women in Business Law Awards

Sydney, 26 June 2012: Fourteen Clayton Utz partners and consultants have been named finalists for 'Best Lawyer' awards at the inaugural 2012 Euromoney LMG Australasia Women in Business Law Awards.

They are:

  • Brigitte Markovic - Dispute Resolution
  • Louise McCoach - Capital Markets
  • Nancy Milne - Insurance and Reinsurance
  • Karen O’Flynn - Insolvency and Restructuring
  • Jo Pugsley - Construction
  • Mary Still - IP litigation
  • Karen Trainor - Environment and Planning

Clayton Utz has also been shortlisted as a finalist in the following award categories:

  • Best gender diversity initiative
  • Best mentoring programme
  • Best Australasian firm for work-life balance
  • Best Australasian firm for talent management

The awards, which have been held in other regions for a number of years and are coming to Australia for the first time, celebrate the progress in law firm gender diversity, innovation, mentoring and talent management, and the achievements of leading women lawyers across Australasia.

Restructuring and Insolvency practice head Karen O'Flynn was named Best Lawyer in Insolvency and Restructuring at the 2011 Euromoney Asia Women in Business Law Awards. Partners, Brigitte Markovic and Julie Levis were short-listed for awards in their respective practice area categories.

The Australasia Women in Business Law award winners will be announced at a function at the Sydney Harbour Marriott Hotel on 16 August 2012.
