Clayton Utz congratulates clients on Insto award-winning deals

Sydney 10 February 2012: Clayton Utz is proud to have been associated with four 2011 deals that were named Deals of the Year at the Insto Distinction Awards 2012, announced this week in Sydney.

The four award-winning deals on which Clayton Utz had key advisory roles are:

  • Origin Energy A$2.3bn PAITREO: Equity Deal of the Year (Advisers to Origin Energy; key partner: Stuart Byrne)

  • Macquarie SMART Series 2011-3 Trust: ABS Deal of the Year (Advisers to Macquarie Leasing; key partner: Andrew Jinks)

  • Royal Adelaide Hospital A$2.8bn PPP: Project Finance Deal of the Year (Joint advisers to South Australian government; key partner: Jo Pugsley)

  • Woolworths Notes II: Hybrid Deal of the Year (Advisers to Woolworths; key partners: Stuart Byrne, Graeme Gurney and Louise McCoach).

Clayton Utz was also a finalist in the Law Firm of the Year category.

The national head of Clayton Utz's Equity Capital Markets practice, Stuart Byrne, said the firm was proud to have supported its clients in successfully completing these transactions, and congratulated them on their recognition. "We are delighted to see so many of our clients, including Origin Energy and Woolworths Limited, recognised for their market innovation," he said.

Now in their thirteenth year, the Insto Distinction Awards recognise innovation, best practice and leaders in the debt capital markets, including investment banks, issuers, investors, treasurers, C-suite executives, fund managers, law firms and accountants. This year's award winners celebrated at a cocktail reception held at Clayton Utz's 1 Bligh offices in Sydney on Tuesday 7 February.
