Clayton Utz mourns the passing of Greg James

Sydney, 3 May 2010: The partners and staff of Clayton Utz are today deeply saddened to learn of the passing of one of the firm's longest-serving and most respected partners, Greg James.

Greg spent his entire legal career at Clayton Utz, joining the firm in July 1981 as a solicitor and becoming a partner on 1 January 1990. Greg was responsible for developing the firm's Equity Capital Markets practice, of which he was the national head, into one of the strongest in Australia.

"Greg was an exceptional person and a very special part of this firm," said Clayton Utz Chief Executive Partner David Fagan. "Greg cared passionately about his family, the people he worked with, his fellow partners, and his clients. We will miss his camaraderie and dry sense of humour."

Greg's funeral will be held this Friday, 7 May, at 1.30pm at St James Anglican Church, 173 King Street (corner of Phillip Street), Sydney.

As an expression of sympathy and at the request of Greg's family, donations may be made to the Arrow Bone Marrow Transplant Foundation, www.arrow.org.au, which provides funding for stem cell research.
