Perth, 11 February 2010: Clayton Utz congratulates Perth consultant Gavin Fielding who has been recognised in the 2010 Australia Day Honours list.
Mr Fielding was conferred with the Order of Australia (General Division) for service to the law and to industrial relations as a practitioner and educator, and to the community of Western Australia.
Mr Fielding joined Clayton Utz in 2002 and is a consultant in the firm's Perth Workplace Relations and Safety team.
Prior to joining Clayton Utz, Mr Fielding held a number of high-profile positions in the field of industrial relations including Senior Commissioner of the Western Australian Industrial Relations Commission and Deputy President of the then Australian Industrial Relations Commission.
During the 1990s Mr Fielding was appointed by the Western Australian Government to carry out a full review of the state's labour relations system. The Fielding Report was highly regarded and contained more than 200 recommendations for change.
Congratulating Mr Fielding on his achievement, Clayton Utz Chief Executive Partner David Fagan said: "Gavin is a valued member of the Clayton Utz community and we are delighted that his contribution to both the legal and wider community has been recognised with an Australia Day honour."
