Clayton Utz appoints next Chief Executive Partner

Sydney, 24 November 2009: The Board of Clayton Utz has announced the appointment of Darryl McDonough as the firm's next Chief Executive Partner when David Fagan's term ends on 30 June 2010.

Mr McDonough joined Clayton Utz in 1993 and practises in corporate law with particular experience in mergers and acquisitions.

Mr McDonough's appointment will take effect on 1 July 2010, for a period of three years.

Announcing the appointment Clayton Utz Board Chair Linda Evans said: "Darryl is a strong leader with deep commercial and board experience. He is strongly committed to Clayton Utz and its values and has the skills, vision and drive to guide the firm through its next stage of development."

Ms Evans said Mr McDonough was a worthy successor to David Fagan, who had made an enormous contribution to the firm as Chief Executive Partner since 2001.

"David Fagan is an outstanding Chief Executive Partner. Clayton Utz has grown and developed enormously during David's term and his leadership, diligence and hard work have been integral to the firm's success. The Board looks forward to continuing to work with David as he leads the firm into 2010."
