This workshop will explore the essential components of conducting a workplace investigation with a focus on conduct-based complaints. It will also introduce participants to changes to the Federal industrial laws that create new obligations for employers and rights for employees, and the implications this has for workplace investigations.

Workshop agenda

This interactive workshop will take participants through:

  • Planning and conducting a workplace investigation
  • Identifying issues and preparing an investigation plan
  • Evidence gathering and analysis
  • Preparing the investigation report
  • Decision-making and outcomes.

Participants will also be provided with an update on relevant legal cases in the area, together with an introduction to important changes to the Federal industrial laws which will expand into matters traditionally regulated by anti-discrimination laws.

The workshop is designed to provide participants practical skills to conduct a workplace investigation with a focus on properly identifying issues and risks for an organisation, including new emerging issues as identified by changes to the Federal industrial laws.
