Prize-winning construction deal keeps Sydney on the move

Key Points:

A team lead by Clive Craven, and including Senior Associates Aggie Goss and Lawar Ishak, recently advised the Transport Infrastructure Development Corporation on the Chatswood Transport Interchange project as part of the Epping to Chatswood rail line development in New South Wales. Clayton Utz has been awarded the Australasian Law Award for the Commercial Property and Construction Deal of the Year for the Chatswood Transport Interchange project. In addition, this project helped to secure Clayton Utz' award of Transport Firm of the Year. The project provides a prime example of the unique cutting edge skills of Clayton Utz' project lawyers.

The project involved a partnership between the TIDC and the private sector for the design and construction of the new Chatswood train station and bus terminal, as well as retail and residential components, making the project an example of future urban development.

The project is financed partly through contributions made by TIDC and project financed by the private sector. At the completion of the transport interchange and the retail facilities, those parts of the development will be handed over to TIDC. The residential component of the development will be retained by the private sector.

We congratulate Clive Craven and his team on this achievement.
