Brisbane City Council - North-South Bypass Tunnel

Key Points:

On 27 April 2006, the Brisbane Lord Mayor announced that the preferred bidder for the massive North-South Bypass Tunnel project (to be delivered as a PPP) was the RiverCity Motorway consortium. This consortium comprises ABN Amro, Leighton Contractors, Baulderstone Hornibrook and Bilfinger Berger.

Clayton Utz has been working intensively with Council over the last two years with respect to this project. This has been a truly national effort by Clayton Utz bringing to bear all of our experience on similar projects in NSW, Victoria and New Zealand.

The project is the first such PPP by a local authority in Australia.

Clayton Utz will continue to work with Council to ensure contractual close and financial close occur as soon as possible.

The core team was led by Doug Jones and Alan Maguire with the long-term day to day professional support of David Lester and Angela Jeppesen, and logistic support of Morag Coull.
