Key Points:
Clayton Utz is committed to developing the PPP industry - that's why we're proud to sponsor the 5th annual National Public Private Partnerships conference. Held over two days in June at Melbourne's Hilton on the Park, the conference has the theme this year of "Evolution of a national PPP market".
The first day will be chaired by Clayton Utz partner Michael Tuckfield, who has over 20 years' domestic and international experience in project financing and revenue law. After lunch, partner Michael Riches will be presenting on "Risk allocation for insolvency". He'll explore where the risk should lie, how to manage it, and what lessons we can learn from the past.
PPPs are an innovative way to provide infrastructure and deliver related services, but they also present challenges for the public and private sector. After the conference, Clayton Utz' Major Projects team will be running a workshop exploring those challenges, including the bid process, avoiding deal creep, contract administration and risk allocation.
The workshop will be chaired by partner Marko Misko, who is experienced in various commercial aspects of Government contracting, facilities management, outsourcing, and major infrastructure projects. Dan Fitts, a partner who has played a leading role in the negotiation and documentation of major privately financed projects here and abroad, will present the workshop, along with Steven Murray, a senior associate in our Major Projects group.
We hope you can join us in Melbourne – we look forward to seeing you there!
