Profile: Michael Earwaker

Key Points:

Michael Earwaker was recently appointed partner in the Melbourne Construction team. Michael is originally from Queensland and worked in Clayton Utz' Brisbane office before moving to Melbourne four years ago.

Michael has degrees in engineering and law and practises exclusively in relation to infrastructure and construction matters. Michael's dual qualification uniquely positions him to be able to advise on the interrelationship between technical and legal aspects in both a drafting and dispute resolution context.

Michael has acted on behalf of both owners and contractors in relation to disputes arising out of a variety of building and infrastructure projects, including civil and earthworks projects, chemical and mineral processing facilities, pipeline installation, roads and pavements and power generation facilities. He is also experienced in a wide range of dispute resolution proceedings including facilitated negotiations, mediations, arbitrations and court proceedings.

Michael has a young family and enjoys spending time with them and (occasionally) appreciating Melbourne's sporting events.
