Profile: Doug Jones

Doug Jones is an international infrastructure and dispute resolution lawyer, and a Sydney-based partner of Clayton Utz, where he heads the International Arbitration, Construction and Major Projects Groups.

Doug has advised extensively on project structuring and financing, contract drafting and advice during project implementation and dispute resolution since his first admission to practice in 1972. Doug has advised clients on projects throughout Australia and in New Zealand, Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, India, Nepal, People's Republic of China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Sri Lanka, South Africa, Pakistan, Iran, Canada and the United States of America.

Doug's many years of experience, and his frequent role as a key strategic advisor on major infrastructure projects including many of Australia's and the Asia Pacific region's PPP projects, ensure that he is a critical part of any legal team in which he is involved.

In 1999, Doug was made a Member of the Order of Australia for services to Construction Law and Dispute Resolution, recognising 30 years' contribution in those areas.

 

Personally, Doug's interests range from classical music to running.
