Asia Pacific Regional Arbitration Group Conference

Key Points:

The Asia Pacific Regional Arbitration Group (APRAG) is holding a conference in Hong Kong in early December.

APRAG is a federation of 24 arbitration associations in the Asia-Pacific region. Its aims are to improve the standards and knowledge of international arbitration as well as to provide a one-stop platform for business entities to source appropriate dispute resolution providers in Asia to resolve their potential disputes.

This year's APRAG conference is to be hosted by the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC). The Conference will cover such issues as recent developments within the region, the management of costs in arbitration and the court's support to arbitration.

Doug Jones and Michael Pryles from Clayton Utz are representing two of the Australian member organisations and will be participating in the conference. Michael is the current President of APRAG and Doug will be moderating the discussion of Arbitration in Construction Related Disputes.

The Asia Pacific Regional Arbitration Group Conference is being held from 3-5 December 2006 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Hong Kong. For further information, visit www.aprag.org
