Profile: Lyndal Buik

Key Points:

Lyndal Buik is a Senior Associate in our Canberra office, practising in the Corporate and Government Services Groups. Lyndal previously worked in the Trade Branch of the Australian Customs Service where she gained experience in commercial and legal issues affecting import and export, and international trade. Since joining Clayton Utz, Lyndal has provided advice on a range of general commercial and corporate issues for Commonwealth Government clients, including DEEWR, DoHA and FaHCSIA.

Lyndal particularly specialises in funding agreements/structures, and has solid experience in implementing large-scale Commonwealth funding arrangements, including drafting complex capital works and equipment funding agreements and advising on taxation issues. She also specialises in advising on corporate insolvency and external administration issues within a Government funding context, including advising the Commonwealth on recovery of funds and assets from insolvent entities.

Lyndal also has broad experience assisting the Commonwealth Government to establish Commonwealth controlled or funded companies, including drafting a range of constituent documentation and advising on the establishment of appropriate corporate governance arrangements for such companies.
